IN TEACHING, LEARNING, AND TECHNOLOGY
NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
to be presented at the
Nineteenth International Conference on College Teaching and Learning
April 14-18, 2008
- The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning sponsors this annual conference which emphasizes the use of innovative strategies, such as interactive and cooperative learning, combined with the use of technology to support higher education learning. About 1,000 faculty representing the major academic fields attend from colleges and universities throughout the world.
- Each college or university is eligible to nominate one full-time teaching faculty member who has contributed in the most highly creative ways to teaching, learning, and technology. Colleges and universities select their candidate based on an institution-wide search, using their own criteria. Previous award winners are not eligible.
- The institution may also choose to have its nominee serve as a candidate for the Boyer International Award. Selection will be made by an international faculty committee. The recipient will receive a $5,000 cash award provided by McGraw-Hill Learning Solutions.
- A nomination form must be completed and signed as recommended by either the President or Chancellor. A 5x7 COLOR glossy photograph of the nominee must be included along with the special registration fee of $570. These materials must be accompanied by a Proposal Submission Form completed by the nominee, indicating his/her agreement to deliver a paper at the conference concerning his/her work.
- Nominated faculty will be honored at a special awards ceremony which will include presentation of an engraved plaque to each nominee, indicating his/her achievements. Each nominee will have his/her photograph and contributions published on the conference Web site.
- Nomination form, color photograph, Proposal Submission Form, Registration form and fee must be received by the EXTENDED deadline of February 29, 2008.
